The phenomenological method was employed for analysis to identify themes associated with feelings of hardships. \n[Results] \nThe participants were three women in their 60s (Participant A, Participant B, and Participant C). A total of 20subthemes were identified by the three research participants as themes expressing the difficulties faced by spouses of depressed patients. From these seven subthemes, two common themes of difficulty and 13 subthemes with individual characteristics were derived.
